Notes: The widow of one of his victims shot a man whom she claimed to be the Axeman. She maybe right as he was not heard again since then. People of New Orleans enjoyed the horror with 'Axeman' parties where everyone dressed as Italian grocers and axemen. There was a popular song calles 'The Mysterious Axeman's Jazz'. |
