A hidebehind is an American folkloric creature that a human may spot in the corner of their eye, but disappears upon further inspection, because it is always hiding behind something.
Description
Nobody knows what a hidebehind looks like because no one has ever seen one clearly.
Behavior
Certain species of hidebehinds are aggressive, however, and assert themselves over territorial conquest and unknowing human intervention.
